An 88-year-old driver and his 85-year-old wife were going through a green light in Waukesha County when they were struck by an individual who ran the red light at a high rate of speed, killing the driver instantly and seriously injuring his wife. The driver who caused the accident indicated to a witness that he was reading the bible as he went through the red light. This case was settled prior to a lawsuit for a total of $800,000.
Boating Accident Involving Collision of Jet Ski Drivers Awarded $450,000. On a lake in Jefferson County, a Jet Ski collided with another jet ski, almost instantly killing the driver of the Jet Skis. The case settled against the insurance company for the policy limits of $300,000 and an additional $150,000 with the manufacturer of the Jet Ski on the theory of defective product in that when the person who caused the accident tried to steer away from the other Jet Ski and took his hand off the throttle, he was unable to turn because he had lost all power and went directly into the other Jet Ski.
Slip-and-Fall Accident in a Kmart Store Awarded $100,000. A client while shopping in a Kmart store slips and falls on some shelving left on the floor by a Kmart employee. Prior to the trial, Kmart offered $15,000. The jury in this personal injury case came back with a verdict of $100,000, minus 25 percent that was assessed for the client's fault.
Dog Bite Injury Settles for $90,000 plus additional payments over time. A 7-year-old child was bitten in the face by a dog while playing with the dog and a friend in the friend's yard, leaving facial scars. The case settled for over $90,000, including some payments over a period of years.

After getting out of his truck, he walked under a mechanical arm that came down and struck him on the head, sustaining head injuries. A federal lawsuit was filed against a railroad company who owned the truck yard.
